POWER UP UKRAINE AND CONTRIBUTE TO RESILIENCE!

Many cities in Ukraine’s eastern regions, including Kherson, have been under constant fire by Russia since its violent full-scale invasion in 2022. The situation in Kherson is particularly dire, with the city having been occupied by Russia and liberated by Ukraine in November 2022. These constant and intense attacks have left critical institutions like hospitals with severe physical damage and often little to no electricity to power them—for days at a time. These attacks make it almost impossible for doctors to continue treating their patients, who often require life-saving equipment such as ventilators, incubators and other life-supporting devices. The CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal has been working tirelessly to provide regions like Kherson with the energy they need to save lives during these devastating times. The situation is urgent, and your support is crucial.

Within the liberated areas of the Kherson region, in conjunction with the Department of Health of the Kherson Regional State Administration, the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal has ensured that critical healthcare facilities have access to solar-powered energy kits from New Use Energy (NUE), specifically, their Sunkit, Suncase365, and Suntarp 420w, totalling nine units. These units have made a significant difference, allowing hospitals to operate their medical equipment during the frequent bombings and subsequent power outages. Your support has directly contributed to this life-saving initiative.

Inna Kholodniak, the Director of the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital, shares a personal note: “We have connected our NUE charging station to our anti-shock chamber that admits children with mine-explosive injuries who require emergency care. This device has already saved us many times during long-term power outages, and without exaggeration, it helps save the lives of our little patients.”

Across the region, the power units have been used to maintain electricity to equipment during life-saving surgeries, properly store blood and plasma, keep intensive care units operating, and power critical laboratory work. As of early November, one hospital in Kherson has been able to treat about 100 patients in its intensive care unit since receiving its charging station in September.

This holiday season, we urge you to give the precious gift of power to Ukrainians in desperate need. Your donation can provide a hospital with the energy it needs to keep operating during a blackout, keep a newborn baby breathing, and keep all of its patients warm during these freezing-cold winter months. Please make a donation today to support our ongoing efforts.
